Dr. Rohinton Patel and his team at Hawaii Pacific Dental Group place implant-supported dentures as a permanent alternative to removable prosthetics. Because the restoration is fixed, patients do not have to worry about a slipping denture while eating or speaking. Dr. Patel can take a series of high quality digital images to guide surgery so that the procedure is minimally invasive.

Missing teeth can severely compromise your ability to chew and speak. As a result, failure to promptly address missing teeth can result in malnutrition, and cause pronounced feelings of self-consciousness, taking a considerable toll on a patient's quality of life. We custom-craft each set of dentures to help patients chew, speak, and smile with absolute confidence.
Types of Dentures
We offer a range of dentures to meet our patients' specific needs:
Complete dentures
A complete denture replaces all teeth along a dental ridge. Complete dentures are typically removable, and secured using special dental adhesive (bottom arch), natural suction (upper arch), or dental implants (either arch).
Partial dentures
Partial dentures are designed to replace one or more missing teeth, but not an entire ridge. Also called dental bridges, these restorations can be supported by two adjacent dental crowns, or by dental implants.
Implant-supported dentures
In many cases, Dr. Patel may recommend securing a partial or complete denture on a series of dental implants. These small titanium posts are surgically inserted into the jawbone, replacing the roots of missing teeth. Implant-supported dentures do not require adhesives and offer patients the ultimate in stability and functionality. For qualified patients, we can perform any necessary extractions and place dental implants within the same visit. Imagine being able to bite into an apple or a piece of beef jerky without a second thought. Implant-supported dentures make it possible!
Periodic Maintenance
Maintaining a set of dentures is not difficult. Thoroughly clean your denture, as well as your gums, to control oral bacteria and prevent the onset of dental disease. Special products, like a denture toothbrush and denture toothpaste, will help you keep your dentures clean. Dr. Patel can provide detailed instructions for maintaining your denture. If you do not have implant-retained dentures, your prosthetic may occasionally require relining. Because of friction between the denture and your gums, and because the jaw bone gradually loses mass in the absence of tooth roots or dental implants, ridges on the gums wear down over time. We can reshape the interior of your dentures so that they fit snugly against your gums once again.
At your annual denture checkup, we will perform an oral cancer screening and sterilize your dentures for optimal cleanliness. Dr. Patel will reevaluate the size, shape, health, and integrity of your jaws at least every five years, using facial recognition patterns through CT scanning.
